Tokyo Tower & Shiba Park (Iconic Red & White Landmark)

Category: Observation Tower & Landmark | Location: 4-2-8 Shibakoen, Minato-ku, Tokyo 105-0011 (Akabanebashi / Onarimon Station)

Completed in 1958 with a soaring height of 332.9 meters, Tokyo Tower stands as an enduring symbol of Japan’s miraculous post-war economic rebirth. Painted in striking international orange and white to comply with aviation safety laws, the lattice tower drew inspiration from the Eiffel Tower in Paris while standing 13 meters taller with ingenious seismic engineering by architect Tachū Naitō. Visitors can ascend to two observation levels: the Main Deck at 150 meters, renowned for its vertigo-inducing glass "Skywalk Windows", and the exclusive Top Deck at 250 meters, featuring geometric mirror interiors and VIP audio tours. At dusk, the tower transforms under warm "Landmark Light" illuminations that bathe the Tokyo evening sky in nostalgic amber hues. The most photogenic perspective is found at Shiba Park and adjacent historic Zojoji Temple, where 400-year-old Buddhist temple roofs contrast magnificently with the glowing red tower behind them. Main Deck admission is ¥1,200, while the Top Deck Tour is ¥3,000, located an easy 5-minute walk from Akabanebashi Station.
